Manila is a highly populated place, of “12.946 million”(CIA world factbook “Philippines”), which is constantly growing. There continues to be an growing number of the rural-urban migration. Since population is so high, it affects the quality of living in many ways, with high crime and violence rates, and horrible traffic conditions.

The government does try and work to make new policies and other settlements to help deal with the dense population. For example, the government tries to make sure to revitalize the parks to improve the city, by making them safer and promoting social interaction. Though there are some good aspects, there are some troubles in Manila which, divides them into two different regions the North and the South. The South contains the old city, government buildings, and tourist areas while the in the North mostly contains the slums.

Even though there is such a high rate of migration, there are not normal beneficial factors, and the growth of economy and natural atteratics. This is more from the development of Manila which has helped to sustain the surplus of economic things coming from the hinterland.
